School Council Visit to Houses of Parliament
Democracy is one of the British Values defined by the DfE and voting starts at a young age at Swaffield!
Each class from Year 2 to Year 6 elects a member and a deputy to represent their thoughts and ideas on School Council at their regular meetings with Ms Pierssene (Deputy Headteacher).
This year’s School Council are: Y2 Chameleon Eliza & Kenzo Y2 Gecko Ellen & Matteo Y3 Jaguar Emrys & Amari Y4 Nyala: Ana & Jaxon Y4 Ocelot Jasmine & Ivan Y5 Lynx Bea & Jai Y6 Quokka Mursalin & Emma.
The group recently enjoyed an interesting trip to the Houses of Parliament where they saw where laws are made and learnt about how government works. Take a look here to read what some of the children thought of the visit.
